Joan of Dampierre (c. 1225–1245/1246) was the eldest daughter of Margaret II, Countess of Flanders, and William II of Dampierre.

In 1239, her mother arranged her to be wed to count Hugh III of Rethel. Margaret stipulated that her dowry should be returned in case the count died without giving Joan a child. When this indeed happened, the money was refunded.

Joan was betrothed to Theobald II, Count of Bar, in 1243 and married him two years later. She died childless not long afterwards.

Юг III умер в 1243 году. Ему наследовали братья — Жан получил Ретель, Гоше — шателению Рокур, Манассе — сеньории Сент-Илье и Бур. А его вдова вышла замуж за графа Бара Тибо II.

Theobald II (1221– October 1291) was a count of Bar. He was the son of Henry II of Bar and Philippa of Dreux. He became count of Bar when his father was killed during the Barons' Crusade in 1239, but news of Henry's death did not reach him until 1240. As Theobald was still a minor, his mother ruled as regent until 17 March 1242. Theobald's own children included his successor Henry III and the bishop Reginald of Bar.
