Agnes of Brandenburg
Agnes of Brandenburg (c. 1257 – 29 September 1304) was the Queen consort of Denmark and Duchess Regnant of Estonia by marriage to King Eric V of Denmark. As a widow, she served as the regent of Denmark for her son, King Eric VI, during his minority from 1286 until 1293.
She and Eric V had seven children, including Eric VI, Christopher II, and Martha of Denmark. Through her second marriage to Gerhard II of Holstein-Plön she also had a son, John III of Holstein-Plön.

Eric V "Klipping" (1249 – 22 novembre 1286) fu Re di Danimarca dal 1259 al 1286.
Figlio di Cristoforo I, fino al 1264 governò sotto gli auspici della madre, la competente Regina Margherita Sambiria. In questo periodo fu per qualche tempo (1261-1262) prigioniero nell'Holstein, dopo una sconfitta militare, e in seguito venne portato per qualche anno nel Brandeburgo. Eric cercò di rafforzare il suo potere sulla chiesa e la nobiltà. Il suo conflitto con la prima portò ad un risultato soddisfacente, ma nel 1282 fu costretto dai secondi ad accettare un accordo (un "Håndfæstning" - una specie di Magna Carta danese) che ne limitava l'autorità. Negli anni 1270, Eric V attaccò lo Småland.
Una rivalità senza fine tra Eric e i suoi sostenitori da una parte, e i sodali dell'ex re Abele dall'altra, indusse la regina Margrethe a scrivere al Papa attorno al 1262 o 1263, chiedendogli di permettere che le donne potessero ereditare il trono danese, rendendo così possibile ad una delle sorelle di Eric di diventare regina regnante di Danimarca, in caso di morte del giovane re (che non aveva ancora figli). Il Papa apparentemente accettò, ma la cosa non divenne mai un problema, ad Eric successe il figlio, che venne chiamato Eric in onore dello zio, Eric IV.

Герхард II Слепой (нем. Gerhard II. der Blinde; 1254 — 28 октября 1312) — граф Гольштейн-Плён с 1290 года.
Второй сын Герхарда I фон Гольштейн-Итцехо и Елизаветы Мекленбургской. При разделе отцовского наследства получил Плён.
Первым браком был женат (свадьба 12 декабря 1275) на шведской принцессе Ингеборг (ум. 1290), дочери короля Вальдемара I. Известны четверо их детей:

- Герхард IV, граф Гольштейн-Плён
- Вальдемар (ок. 1279 — 29 июля 1306), граф Гольштейн-Шауэнбург

В 1293 году Герхард II женился на Агнессе Бранденбургской, вдове короля Дании Эрика V. От неё сын
